Description These thoughtfully designed billboard messenger bags are a perfect practical accessory for the urban lifestyle – whether that’s hopping between conferences, work, play, travel and shopping, these bags serve so many purposes. Each bag has a cross-shoulder sling, closing flap, inner lining, inner pocket and back-side zip pouch. They are durable, flexible, versatile and stylish. It is locally made from waste billboard fabric, which is very durable material and takes ages to decompose – current estimates say it takes 20 years before it even starts to degrade! There is also currently no way to recycle billboard fabric, so the creative Upcycle team are figuring out brilliant applications to keep waste billboards out of the landfill. An extra benefit is that the fabric is waterproof, durable and machine washable (or handwashable) alongside regular laundry. The texture is like soft canvas, so the bags are easily foldable, flexible, relatively thin, and easy to carry around. The bags are well-made, with neat trims and reinforced stitching around the handles, the fabric is extremely strong and it can carry a lot of weight. Note the colours and motifs are completely random, being made from waste there is little standardisation of colours and each item is unique.
